Baby Rohin. In Home Newborn Session. Castledawson, Northern Ireland.

Newborn photography. Baby Photography. Newborn session. Newborn photoshoot. There are lots of different ways to describe your brand new little humans firsts photographs. Either way book a photoshoot. To me they are the most pivotal images you could capture of your children.

But the time in the first few months goes by so fast. Believe me. SO FAST! And you guys are so sleep deprived, hosting all the visitors. You are in and out of the doctors and getting the new clothes because the new humans outgrow everything. You are buried under a mountain of nappies. And the time just dissappears. But then you get to look back at your stunning newborn baby photographs and remember just how small they were. How they have been pulling that funny face from day one, how they giggle in their sleep, and wriggle around. And, you know, lets not forget those teeny tiny newborn toes. My obsession.

Be Like Natasha

The beautiful Natasha knew this. Be like Natasha. She got in touch with me via my instagram page to capture her adorable baby boy Rohin (while she was still pregnant, we like this organisation). The newborn photography took place in her family home in Castledawson, Northern Ireland. I always let my clients choose if they want an ‘In Home’ or my ‘Home Studio’ Newborn session.

The family were getting ready for Diwali, the house was a flurry of cooking and decorating and it made me miss Manchester and the celebrations. Natasha (a wonderful artist) and her husband Ryan (a very lovely MMA competitor ) were so welcoming, open and just totally in love with their little man. I started capturing images from the get go as the joy in the house was palpable.

So I snagged a bay window and set up my variety of thoughtfully designed and laid out props. Then I spent 2 hours capturing this little story. I had the best chats, laughs and periodically lost it over the cute faces Rohin was pulling. You would think I’d get used to it, but no. The cuteness hits me everytime. Rohin slept and wriggled about, gave me all the silly faces, sweet yawns, curious eyes and beautiful emotion filled moments. We ended the session by documenting the love and bonds that connect this wonderful family. We popped into the conservatory and used the stunning afternoon light to backlight Natashan, Ryan and their gorgeous son Rohin in some natural, honest family photographs.

The Gallery

These are the moments I adore capturing. These are the ones you guys always love, hang in your home and cherish. Bonded in love, life, memory, experience and excitement for what the future will bring. These are fleeting moments. But such important and beautiful ones in this families journey. Only the beginning.
