Iain & Deborah | Northern Ireland wedding photography!

I couldn’t have been more thrilled when Iain and Deborah asked me to be their wedding photographer in 2016. After moving to Northern Ireland in 2012, I had actually stopped shooting weddings. Just for a few years whilst I settled and built up my Northern Ireland photographer business. I was focusing on portraits, newborn and my family photography work. But the time felt right to take the leap back into the Northern Ireland wedding photographer game.

Meeting up

We started as I always do with my clients, meeting up drinking coffee and nattering away until we realise it has gotten dark and the coffee shop is closed! We discussed them, their journey, that I get to captured a beautiful snippet of. What they want from me what I want from them (happiness, to have fun and be wildly yourself), the locations, the family and friends also the style, the textures and the whole gorgeous vibe of their day. So then we planned their engagement session, shot in the spot Iain proposed at the stunning Gosford Forest Park. You can see the loveliness from that day below.

the BIG day

When the big day came it was a perfect October day in Northern Ireland. So the Autumn leaves were everywhere, blue skies and the most chilled out atmosphere in the brides house. I was ready for a crazy morning, the brides house is always the hub of activity. Well Debs just happens to be the best organiser in the world so everything was going to plan! The make up and hair was getting done, the Bellinis were on the go and everyone was excited, the bridesmaids favours were being braided into their hair or worn and ofcourse all the selfies were happening. So the most down to earth, chilled, lovely atmosphere! The boys were having breakfast round the corner, joking around, getting rid of any nerves and making friends with my second shooter for the day, my usual partner in crime being unavailable.

The ceremony took place in the families Nazerene church in Bangor which is bright white, huge tall ceilings with skylights. What a dream for a wedding photographer. I wont give away too many personal details about the ceremony. But it was heartfelt, had incredible live music and it was so personal to Iain and Deborah and you could feel every person in the room loved them! The reception was at the Templepatrick Hilton Hotel, the room was decked out beautifully and they have stunning grounds, which we explored and captured our favourite images in. Check out a few of my favourites from their gorgeous wedding!
