A Belfast Elopement

Wedding photography is such a privilage. You are invited to be a part of a couples most special day. To be trusted to capture so many magical moments, be given reign to use your creativity and style to document their one day, beautifully.  It’s an intimate thing, that’s why I spend time with my couples, coffee & chats, emailing, pre wedding/engagement sessions.

Nadya and Christian chose to have a Belfast Elopement. That’s right, elopements are only reserved for the mountains and cliff tops.  The buzzing city is a hot spot for elopements. And I was thriled to be a part of it. From Uzbekistan and Norway, this epic couple met at Queens university and wanted to get married in the city they met. How romantic! I love small intimate wedding photography. This Belfast Elopement was about as intimate as it gets. I not only photographed their wedding but I was a witness for the marriage as well. There were just 4 of us involved.

City Adventure

It is pretty darn special to have 2 people but their faith in you like that. To be such an integral part of their day. So I planned a few surprises for this awesome pair. They told me they love architecture and city views. So after the ceramony at Belfast City Hall, I arranged for us to go to the rooftop of the Europa Hotel. The rooftop is usually reserved for weddings taking place at the hotel. But the staff were so accomodating and we got the most amazing images! Rolling hills on one side, the Iconic Harland and Wolf cranes on the other.

We also stopped off at Queens University as it has so much meaning for Nadya and Christian. It may only have been 2 and a half hours but it was a rollarcoaster. The next day Nadya and Christian were back in Norway where they live and now they have such a gorgeous set of images to remember their Belfast elopement.
