When Rachel told me they were having an Orange Tree House Wedding, I’m not going to lie, I did a little giddy dance. What a dream venue for any couple and wedding photographer! The lough shore, the beautiful arhcitecture, grey abbey is 1 minute away. I have said it before and I will say it again, we are spoilt with our location in Northern Ireland. Forests, mountains, clifftops, beaches, gardens, ruins. We really do have it all.

Orange Tree House is such a beautiful, unique, modern venue to shoot in. Situated in the historical village of Greyabbey on the shores of Strangford Lough. It has been restored, originally an 1820’s barn style church that keeps its original charm and beauty and rustic feel. I would say it is now one of the most popular venues in the country, who provide catering as well! After 8 hours continuous shooting on your feet you really appreciate a nice big plate of yummy food before the next 4.

Orange Tree House Wedding

But Im getting ahead of myself, we started the day with Adam and Rachel at Barnwell Farm Cottages. The boys were carrying on from the night before (hair of the dog, it’s the only way) and the girls were super chilled out, getting their hair and make-up done by the lovely Emma McConville and Emma Biggerstaff (it was a room full of Emmas), enjoying their prosecco, their epic dresses and generally just having a laugh. Well.. until the hour before the ceremony when you realise there are a million things to do and youre supposed to be at the alter!

The day was filled with laughter, romance, family and so much banter! We loved shooting the bridal portraits in the stunning grey abbey ruins, then we had the family portraits on the loughshore, the stunning grounds and interiors of Orange Tree House. Spoilt rotten is what we were. The beautiful flowers by Hedgerows and Laneways decorated the room  and were the perfect pop of colour for the bridal party and I adored photographing them in artistic ways. The wedding cake was decorated in personalised macaroons. The tables were Gin themed. The newly weds were driven around in a gorgeous vinatage car! We had a crazy drunken sparkler exit, a charicature artist a selfie station and sweet cart! It was non stop fun from begining to end.  Check out the photos below.
